Siemens Process Instrumentation is pleased to announce its latest development: the SITRANS LU180. The SITRANS LU180 is a short-range integrated ultrasonic level transmitter. This two-wire, 4 to 20 mA loop powered transmitter is ideal for liquids, slurries and bulk materials in open or closed vessels to 16.4 ft. (5m). Complete with ATEX, FM, CSA, IECEx and NEPSI approvals, SITRANS LU180 can be used in hazardous locations typical in the environmental, oil and gas, and chemical markets.

The transducer is available in PVDF copolymer, making the device suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. The SITRANS LU180 is easy to install and maintain, and can be quickly removed for cleaning as required by the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

What the SITRANS LU180 is Replacing
Please note that the SITRANS LU150 replaces “The Probe” general purpose model and the SITRANS LU180 replaces the intrinsically safe model. These two models will become obsolete by the end of this fiscal year. The three-wire “The Probe” model remains since no equal replacement is available.
