Model 869 and Model 869 Expert System Ultra-Low Pressure Generating and Documenting Calibrator

SETRA SYSTEMS INTRODUCES THE NEW MICRO-CAL™ MODEL 869 AND EXPERT SYSTEM ULTRA-LOW PRESSURE AND DOCUMENTING CALIBRATORS

Setra Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of pressure measurement devices, introduces the newly updated Micro-Cal Model 869 and Expert System, Ultra-Low Pressure and Documenting Calibrators. The updated Model 869 calibrators’ additional features include a new Li-Ion battery pack, reduced weight (2 lbs lighter), a universal charging plug for different electrical outlets, and a new plug-in that allows charging while lid is closed.

The original Model 869 calibrator was specifically designed for air handling processes in critical environments that require portable, high accuracy and low-pressure documenting calibration. The updated Model 869, which is still capable of fully automated testing and calibrating any pressure transducer, is now capable of calibrating pressure switches and analog gauges. This updated series also has the advantage of displaying and executing data via menu driven functions on a hand-held PDA device.

The new Model 869 Expert System contains all of the new features of the new 869 and more. The Expert System, combined with Setra’s 269 pressure transducers and SRPM Room Pressure Monitors, has fully automated testing and hands-off calibration which reduces calibration times to 5 minutes or less. The 869 and 269 were specifically developed to be a full pressure transducer/ calibration solution for critical environments and HVAC applications. This pairing ensures automated communication, testing, and calibration between the two. This same logic was implemented in the development of the SRPM as well. Overall, the 869 Expert System is a key part of the critical applications solution designed to ensure Setra products are highly accurate and responsive. Two umbilical lengths of 6 feet (standard) and 12 feet (optional) are available which provide easy access to units located in remote areas. Also, the calibrator can read analog output and communicate digitally.

Traditional laboratory bench top calibration units are nonrepeatable, only accurate to .0004 in. W.C., and can require up to one full hour to run calibration checks on a unit. To correctly perform on-site tests, many of these basic units need multiple components, such as pressure indicators and generators, voltage and current meters, and data loggers. Both the 869 and the Expert System are engineered to be portable, lightweight and compact for use in cramped or remote locations. These units have a pressure reading accuracy close to .0001 in. W.C, with fast, stable and repeatable pressure generation better than .0003 in.
