ASM High Performance Pressure Transducer

MARIETTA, GA – 11/2010 - Setra Systems, Inc. a leading designer and manufacturer of pressure measurement instruments, announces the introduction of the new AccuSense™ Model ASM high performance pressure transducer. The AccuSense™ Model ASM meets the ever increasing demand for greater accuracy to accommodate the technological advancements of today's complex test systems.

Well suited for high-tech industrial, laboratory and aerospace applications, particle & test analysis, dynamometers and engine test cells, the ASM delivers remarkable performance. The ASM offers +/- 0.05% Full Scale (End-Point Accuracy) or 0.1% of Reading accuracy ensuring stable, repeatable and precise pressure readings throughout the testing process. The output is virtually unaffected by wide shifts in environmental temperature. The ASM total error band is < +/- 0.25% Full Scale, minimizing thermal error.

This exceptional performance is achieved by combining Setra's unique electronic circuitry with its patented resonant variable capacitance sensor. The new sensor design enables improved accuracy, high stability, and overpressure protection. The circuit has digital signal conditioning which ensures great linearization, thermal compensation, and zero/ span settings.

Exceptional Overpressure Protection
Some test systems may experience pressure spikes that would affect the performance of most pressure transducers, but Setra's Model ASM offers standard overpressure protection up to 2X proof pressure and a patented high overpressure protection option that enables up to10X proof pressure.

Secure & Simple Field Calibration
The manual trim pots typically used on pressure transducers were eliminated in order to ensure tamper-proof calibration. The model ASM can be quickly calibrated (digitally) with an optional SecureCal calibration accessory. Simple push-buttons and LCD/ LED readouts enable zero-tare and snap-span adjustments. For added speed and simplicity, there is also a factory calibration restore function.


A high level analog output signal, excellent stability, and secure calibration makes this high performance unit ideal for industrial, laboratory, and engine test cell applications. Features greater accuracy (<0.05%), improved thermal stability (<0.25%), reduced size, high overpressure protection (>10X proof).
