One Tough Little String Pot
Introducing two new miniature string sensors. The SM1 (w/bare solder terminals) and the SM2 (w/40 inches of electrical cable) are in stock, economically priced and designed to fit into really tight spaces are just a few features that make these sensors the perfect choice for the OEM and single piece user alike.

Every sensor is built with a rugged polycarbonate body designed to withstand common application abuses from moderate impacts to harsh chemicals. Additionally our "free-release" tolerant design helps guard against cable failure up to accidental free-release. The rubber snubber at the base of the eyelet helps cushion any accidental free release up to a distance of 15 inches.

Output Signal
The heart of these string sensors is a high-cycle 10K ohm conductive plastic potentiometer that delivers a smooth, precise voltage divider output signal proportional to the travel of the spring-loaded measuring cable.

Simply connect a stable, regulated DC power source and you're good to go...

Both SM1 and SM2 come in four different stroke ranges: from 0-2.5 inches (64mm) to 0-25 inches (635mm) full stroke. Each sensor is constructed with a durable .014-inch dia. nylon coated stainless steel measuring cable and a stainless steel eyelet that is used to attach it.

Handy Mounting Bracket
Both these sensors are ready to mount in just about any direction. Each sensor comes with a handy mounting bracket that allows you to mount the sensor in several different directions.

Simply remove the mounting bracket screws, rotate sensor into desired position, re-attach and your done.

Pretty simple.
