G.R.A.S Sound and Vibration (www.gras.us) is proud to continue offering customized measurement microphones for all your acoustic testing needs. In addition to our wide variety of “off the shelf” products including free field, array, flush mounted, surface mounted, and turbulence screen microphones, G.R.A.S. is always looking for customization opportunities with state of the art companies and organizations.

As an example, we are currently working with a US submarine manufacturer on a customized free-field CCP microphone which will utilize an integrated military connector and special military cabling. The ruggedized military connector and cabling have been specifically requested by our customer as part of the overall solution.

We are also currently working with a US rocket delivery vehicle manufacturer on a customized ultra-low sensitivity microphone solution which will be able to measure noise within the nosecone of a rocket during launch. By increasing the thickness of the diaphragm of the microphone, we are able to dramatically lower the sensitivity of the microphone, resulting in the microphone being able to operate in a very high sound pressure environment.
