January 2023, MARIETTA, GA ~ The Siemens SIWAREX DB provides the cost advantage of an analog load cell with the diagnostic capabilities of a digital load cell. All SIWAREX weighing electronics come with advanced load cell diagnostics. However, in a standard analog application, the load cell signals are summed together in a field junction box so that the diagnostics can only determine whether there is a problem with an unspecified load cell. To identify the load cell in question, the signal wires must be split at the junction box and each load cell tested independently.

With the SIWAREX DB, the load cell signals are digitized in the field and the weighing electronics can tell the operator not only that there is a problem with a load cell, but also which load cell it is.
